Arthritic Joints
As you can see from the picture to the left, joints are where two bones meet. Under the rheumatoid arthritis example it may look normal at first but if you look at the color around the joints you will see that it's red. That red represents the swolleness. But what causes the swolleness is the bone erosion. Whenever there is an injury in the body the injured area usually swells and the body reacts this way because it's trying to protect what it believes is broken/damaged. The bone erosion causes the pain and the swolleness is what causes the stiffness.
Although there is no cure for RA yet there are some home remedies that you can use in order to decrease swelling and pain. One remedy for RA is ice and heat. Ice the swollen area for no more than 10 minutes to reduce the swelling then place a warm heating pad on arthritic area to ease the pain away and loosen the joints for more movement.
